Joliet Area Community Hospice is looking for volunteers to provide compassionate care to end of life patients and families in their homes or long term care facilities in the Braidwood, Lisle, Mokena, New Lenox, Frankfort, and Orland Park areas.
Your time and talents could be utilized by:
- Visiting with hospice patients
- Assisting at health fairs and other community events
- Helping out with bereavement activities and events
- Providing respite to hospice families for periods of 2-3 hours, allowing the caregiver a much needed break to run errands or just have some time to themselves.
No medical experience is required. All volunteers need to complete volunteer training before becoming an active volunteer. The next volunteer training will be held on Saturday, April 24 and May 1, 2010 from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Volunteers are required to attend both training days.
