Veterans Memorial Garden

Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care enlarged and enhanced its Flag Galleria outdoor space to provide veterans and veteran families with a Veterans Memorial Garden thanks to support from the community and a gift from Joliet Township Government. The new Veterans Memorial Garden honors veterans of all eras and its granite monuments recognize those who served in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Seat walls, bushes, and beautiful landscaping enhance this peaceful garden. The Veterans Memorial Garden is easily accessible, open and available to the community, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere to provide a special place for reflection, celebration and recognition of service by those who have made the greatest sacrifice for our country.  Naming opportunities are still available. Veterans Memorial Pavers in three sizes are available to honor a beloved veteran, with placement in the Veterans Memorial Garden area.

Hospice is about shifting mindset. With a focus on quality of life, JACH (Lightways) made it clear that we were making the best choices for my Dad. From admission to Dad’s death, the entire JACH (Lightways) staff was fantastic. My family has a warm feeling of gratitude for the Pride, Honor, and Dignity Veteran’s pinning ceremony. We knew Dad was a Veteran, but discovered so much through this program. It was amazing that Hospice recognized Dad for his services to our country EXACTLY 66 years to the day of a battle he fought and won in France,” stated Sharon Sullivan, daughter of Anthony Kayfish.
