Thank you from every part of our hearts for taking care of our precious Mom and Nana. Her name was Anne DiGrazia…She died on the morning of Jan. 30th, the coldest day of the year. But in spite of that cold weather, anyone of you who came in contact with us warmed our hearts. We knew that your goal was to show us patience, care and compassion through the attentive and unending ways you provided for Mom/Nana. You came through with everything that could have possibly helped her – calm voices, medications, frequently visiting her room, turning her and repositioning her head, keeping her clean. I’ll never forget how {the aide} gave her such a nice bath and combed her hair and put on a cozy, purple plaid pajama top. When we came back into the room, mom looked so clean and comfortable. It seemed important for us to see her like that. Thank you to every one of you who greeted my family and me when we arrived, who offered us breakfast, lunch and dinner, who brought us extra pillows and blankets, who provided us with informational booklets. We used one of the stories/poems in that book at her service…Thank you for being a part of her final days on this earth.

The Family of Anne DeGrazia

My dad, Bill Modlin, passed away last night. He was at hospice for almost 6 nights. The experience we received there was amazing! The staff was above amazing and caring. They definitely take the time and focus on the family along with the patients. They give you free food and snacks and even beer and wine! It made the transition for my family so comfortable. My family will be donating to this home for the holidays because I want to give back to the amazing place that not only took care of my dad but us too! The staff again was amazing – even the volunteers!

During his final week, it was very important to my father to be able to return home and not pass in a hospital…Your organization was incredibly helpful. Even on a Sunday evening, your company took our call and had one of your team members be there with us. We were all very blown away by how nice and respectful your people were. They provided great care for my father and ensured he was as comfortable as possible. Looking back, we were so thankful for the help and support we received. It allowed us to have my father pass away at his home which was exactly where he wanted to be.

To the Staff of the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home: On behalf of the family of Chris McGrane, I wanted to thank you so much for the care you showed both my mom and her family. We were so blessed to have the opportunity to be in the hands of such loving individuals. You really did make her last days peaceful and the pain of losing her bearable. Words can’t express our appreciation.

Thank you, Joliet Area Community Hospice staff and volunteers. I can’t say it with words how much you all helped me through this difficult time. Your whole staff was wonderful and so kind. I know Mom is at peace and you all helped to make that happen. All she wanted was to go home. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and God bless you all.

Susan Wicks, daughter of Virginia Sagert

Thank you so very much for the excellent care you gave to our mother, Dorothy. You approached every situation with professionalism, kindness and compassion. Our Mother’s final journey was greatly eased by your gentle care and guidance. She passed surrounded by the love of her family. It was a privilege to be by her side. Words cannot express how grateful we are to the entire JACH team. Thank you!

The Macejik Family

To the staff: Until I experienced the care and compassion of the staff at JACH, I had no idea of the support their presence meant to me and my family. From social services, equipment, the beauty of Melissa’s music, the tenderness shown my husband by the nursing staff and Rev. Bond – no one could have asked for more. May God bless each of you.

The Daudell Family

To all the wonderful people at Hospice, I will be ever grateful for all your kind, tender, gentle care you extended to my dear Andrew (and me). I don’t know how I could have gotten through it all without you! God Bless you.
