Sr. Director of Clinical Programs
Sara Dado joined the Joliet Area Community Hospice leadership team in July 2019. She is responsible for oversight, program development and management of several areas within the organization, including palliative care, bereavement, volunteer services, pediatrics and complementary therapies. Sara also provides guidance and leadership to the social services departments. Sara has 20 years of experience in health care management, including 10 years in community-based hospice care.
Prior to joining JACH, Sara was the Chief Compliance Officer at Transitions Hospice, where she oversaw the quality and compliance departments, including HR, IT and Communications. Prior to that role, Sara served as the hospice administrator, overseeing all areas of hospice operations.
Sara is the Vice-Chair on the Board of Directors and Legislative Committee Chair for the Illinois Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (ILHPCO) and a member of the Greater Illinois Pediatric Palliative Care Coalition (GIPPCC) Board of Directors. Sara has presented nationally on the topics of advance care planning, quality care at end of life, and complex grief and loss.
Sara earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Northern Iowa and her Master of Social Work from the University of New York. She is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Illinois.
